Apa itu tenses?

Tenses
Tenses adalah sebuah konsep untuk menunjukkan masa, kesinambungan,  sesuatu yang telah tamat secara total, tindakan atau keadaan berkait dengan masa ianya digunakan(ketika bercakap/berbual).
Ramai yg keliru bentuk2 masa, cara guna dan makna tenses itu sendiri. English ada 12 bentuk masa yg terdiri dari 3 bentuk masa utama:
Masa/time:
past = waktu yg telah berlalu
present = sekarang atau sesuatu yg sedang dilakukan setiap hari/kebiasaan
future = masa akan datang
Terdapat 2 aspek dlm bentuk masa ini:
Progressive:
tindakan yang belum selesai
Perfective:
Tindakan atau keadaan yg telah selesai/tamat.
progressive aspek membawa "continuous" tenses iaitu:
past continuous
present continuous
future continuous
perfective membawa "perfect tense":
past perfect
present perfect
future perfect
Bila 2 aspek ini digabung, kita akan dapat :
past perfect continuous
present perfect continuous
future perfect continuous.
Contoh:
Present simple:
I do
Present continuous:
I am doing
Present perfect:
I have done
Present perfect continuous:
I have been doing this
Past simple tense:
I did
Past continuous:
I was doing
Past perfect:
I had done
Past perfect continuous:
I have been doing
Future simple:
I will do
Future continuous:
I will be doing
Future perfect:
I will have done
Future perfect continuous:
I will have been doing

Have been atau had been?

Have been
Have been digunakan bila anda memulakan sesuatu dimasa lalu dan masih berlaku hingga sekarang.
I have been waiting for you since 7am.
I have been searching for my keys.
I have been so tired lately.
(Has been digunakan utk he/she/it)
Had been
Had been digunakan apabila sesuatu berlaku sebelum sesuatu yg lain dimasa lalu atau sesuatu yg telah tamat dimasa lalu.
I had been living in JB before I moved to KL.
I had been to New York 8 years ago.
I had been working for abc management for 5 years until I received another offer.
Choose have been, has been or had been.

3.They _ enjoying the weather in Spain this last few days.
4. I _ cooking since 5pm for dinner.

Bila nak guna much dan bila nak guna many?


When to use much and when to use many?
●Kita gunakan much utk uncountable noun (kata benda yang tidak boleh dikira)
- milk, sugar, money, time
●Kita gunakan many utk countable noun (boleh dikira)
- minutes,  ringgit, bottles of milk, can of drinks

Example:
How much money does he have?
How many hours does it take to go to London?

Choose many or much.
